This series of prints was inspired by recent nostalgic reflections of my childhood. Looking back at old photos makes me remember the vibrancy of our carefree youth. Throughout the creation of these prints, I allowed my inner child to guide me. I chose colors that resonated with certain memories captured, my favorite toys or activities, as well as the colors I associate with my parents. The song “Daydream” by Lily Meola deeply resonated with me as it is about living out your daydreams and not letting fear hold you back. One of the verses that stood out was “When we were kids in the backyard. Playing astronauts and rockstars. No one told us to stop it. Called us unrealistic. Then suddenly, you're eighteen. Go to college for your plan "B". What you want is too risky.” Society often pressures us to choose the "safe" path, heading to college for careers deemed financially lucrative or conventionally successful. However, in my youth, I fearlessly expressed myself, embracing art and play without hesitation. As children, we embraced each day with imagination, unconstrained by the fear of failure. Adopting this youthful mindset, I approached the creation of these prints with an open mind. No idea was too bold. No boundary was too daunting.
