Consider The Wildflowers
In a society fixated on perfection, where flaws are often viewed as burdens to be hidden or eliminated, my art challenges this mindset by prompting viewers to reconsider imperfection. Inspired by the resilience and elegance of wildflowers, flourishing in unanticipated and disregarded environments, my work celebrates our undervalued traits.
Much like wildflowers endure diverse conditions, adapting to their surroundings without protest, we are challenged to navigate life's unpredictable terrain. My piece encourages those who encounter it to embrace life's peaks and valleys with fortitude and acceptance. By exploring the theme of acne, a widespread yet socially stigmatized skin condition, I aim to highlight the universal journey of self-acceptance and show acne in a new light.
The Untroubled Hours
This project embodies my childhood experiences and evokes a sense of nostalgia, transporting viewers back to a time of carefree joy. It serves as a homage to the innocence of youth, free from the burdens of adulthood. The Webkinz heart monkey symbolizes a cherished memory from my past when my parents surprised me with this beloved stuffed animal on Valentine's Day. Reflecting on this moment fills me with gratitude for the nurturing upbringing provided by my parents.
